Lighting
Installation of LED lights in various spaces. Efficient lighting. Adjustment of light intensity in different time phases.
Solar plant
Expansion of the photovoltaic plant installation on the roof of the pavilions to increase the power to one megawatt and be able to achieve self-sufficiency of 18%.
Energy
Conducting an energy audit and monitoring consumption of energy sources. Reduction of the stands’ energy use.

In 2021. this working group was created with members from different departments to work on implementing the SDGs at BEC!
Equality Committee
The equality committee set up at BEC puts in place specific measures in its workstreams to promote equal rights and opportunities for women in the organisation.

BEC maintains its commitment to sustainability management and the SDG 2030-Sustainable Development Goals agenda in its events space as well as in organising events with its suppliers.
BEC REMAINS COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY
Bilbao Exhibition Centre maintains its commitment to sustainability and the SDG 2030-Sustainable Development Goals agenda with a specific committee responsible for aligning its internal and external activities with the UN’s goals. This criterion is applied to, among other social and environmental aspects, management of the venue as an infrastructure and the events held there.
As proof of this, BEC has begun to certify its events as sustainable using the Erronka Garbia seal.
