Inauguration of the seventh edition of WORKinn

This morning took place the inauguration of the WORKinn job fair, chaired by Elena Pérez, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security of the Basque Government, who was accompanied by Javier Riaño, Special Advisor to the Regional Deputy for Employment. Juan Carlos Ibarrola, Director of Vocational Training for Employment of Lanbide; María Victoria Riol, Managing Director of DEMA; Xabier Ortueta, General Director of AFM Cluster; Xabier Basañez, General Director of BEC and Mª Carmen Gorostiza, Director of Industry, Energy and ICTs Unit of Bilbao Exhibition Centre, among other institutional representatives, also participated in the inauguration.

The Deputy Minister has highligted “the vocation of the public employment service, Lanbide, to promote a leap in public employment policies after surpassing the milestone of one million people working and with rights in the Basque Country”. In her words, “after having successfully overcome the greatest threats, the objective set by the Department of Labor and Employment is to connect companies looking for people and people looking for companies where they can earn a fair wage and develop their professional career. So that no one, no person and no company will be left out of the opportunities that will continue to come our way”.

For his part, Riaño stated that “more industry is more resilience in times of crisis. More industry means more and better jobs. Industry is progress. That is why from the Department of Employment, Social Inclusion and Equality led by Teresa Laespada, we are committed to strengthening the industrial ecosystem. Investing more in people and companies. Ensuring the necessary skills to seize opportunities and respond to challenges. With employment support programs such as 3R, with business associations, clusters and Lanbide, which has assisted more than 2,000 unemployed people and reemployed more than 500 since 2022”.

Identifying talent and offering companies the most qualified profiles is one of the main objectives of WORKinn Talent Hub, which opens the doors of its seventh edition with more than a hundred registered job offers. The forum, which has been located for the first time in the pavilion, is a comprehensive space for talent in the industrial field aimed at working professionals seeking to improve their working conditions, those who are unemployed, as well as students in their last academic year or recent graduates.

With this, the event becomes a strategic meeting point between companies, universities, vocational training centers, recruitment companies and ETTs, development and employment agencies, students and workers.

WORKinn Talent Hub is organized by AFM, Cluster for Advanced and Digital Manufacturing, and Bilbao Exhibition Centre and is sponsored by the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and Lanbide.
