The Conference will hold its 2nd edition on 8 and 9 October at BEC

The main stakeholders from the value chain will attend Oil & Gas Conference, which will be holding its second edition on 8 and 9 October at Bilbao Exhibition Centre. Engineering firms, consultancy firms, EPCs, equipment and component suppliers, technologists, operators and end users will meet over two days to discover first-hand the latest advances, exchange information and measure capacities in what is the only Spanish event of international renown in the sector.

With a strategic and technological approach, 23 first-rate speakers will analyse the current state of the hydrocarbon sector, both upstream and downstream. The speakers include experts like Kamel Bennaceur, Chief Economist at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and former Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines in Tunisia; Espen Sletten, Head of Exploration at the Norwegian state oil company, Equinor (formerly Statoil); as well as Juan Andrés Diez de Ulzurrun, Deputy General Manager of ENAGAS; and Juan Carlos Latasa, Technical Director for Oil&Gas at IDOM, both of these members of the Committee of Experts of Parliament; Audun Martinsen, Vice Chair of Analysis at RYSTAD ENERGY; Jorge Navarro, Head of Geology at CEPSA; Margarita Hernando, Chair of ACIEP, the Spanish Association of Hydrocarbons Research, Exploration and Production Companies; Elías Unzueta, Manager of Petronor Innovación; and representatives of other companies such as Técnicas Reunidas, BBG-Bahía Bizkaia Gas and the Basque Energy Cluster.

The main topics that will be covered in the Oil & Gas Conference will be identifying energy resources and optimising technologies, trends and competitiveness, success stories regarding innovative solutions, business opportunities in new markets such as Uzbekistan and the US, exploration and production in deep water and change in the energy mix.

As for the format, this year the conference will once again include talks and an exhibition area, where there will be around 20 companies and organisations exhibiting. There will also be networking areas for meetings with delegates, exhibitors and event sponsors, and a cocktail dinner and lunch.

Oil & Gas Conference is supported by a Committee of Experts made up of renowned technological innovation professionals, and representatives of companies and organisations such as AMPO, TUBACEX GROUP, LOINTEK, HIDROCARBUROS DE EUSKADI (EVE GROUP), ENAGAS, IDOM and PETRONOR. The conference will officially open on Monday, 8 October, at 9am, and the ceremony will be led by Arantxa Tapia, Regional Minister of Economic Development and Infrastructure of the Basque Country.
