BEC, global host of air connectivity at ROUTES 2018

The most influential professionals in the air connectivity sector will make decisions that will change the face of the air map over the next few years at “Routes Europe 2018”, Europe’s leading air connectivity gathering, which aims to decide whether new routes can be opened. More than 100 airlines, 300 airports, 50 of the main tourism boards, transport companies and tour operators will hold nearly 5,000 meetings at BEC’s Hall 1 and Congress Centre to discuss new business opportunities, plan network strategies and get valuable information from aviation industry experts.

The Basque Country’s application to host this important international opportunity, which was presented by the Basque Government-Basquetour, Bizkaia Provincial Council, Bilbao City Council and Bilbao Airport, was successful in the demanding selection process as it fulfils the two most important requirements: to have an international airport with strategic air links to cities like London, Amsterdam, Zurich, Prague and Munich; and state-of-the-art infrastructure, like BEC.
