Bilbao Exhibition Centre has obtained ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the international standard that accredits best practices in information security management. The recognition, which was awarded by EQA (European Quality Assurance Spain, S.L.), certifies that the management system implemented by BEC complies with the highest international standards in its security systems for organising trade fairs, guaranteeing the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information handled.

To achieve this recognition after a very rigorous evaluation process, BEC has implemented a continuous improvement system based on risk analysis, metrics, and indicators to strengthen its data protection infrastructure. The scope of the certification covers the information systems that support the management of events, from their recruitment to their celebration, as well as the digital services aimed at exhibiting companies, visitors and collaborators.

This milestone is part of BEC’s digital transformation strategy, which in recent years has enhanced its capabilities with the aim of consolidating an excellent management model and adapting to increasingly demanding environments in terms of security and efficiency.
