Following a record-breaking 2018, BEC gets ready to host new international events

After hosting the EMA MTV Awards Ceremony, Routes Europe, EuroPM, and the BIEMH- International Machine-Tool Biennial Exhibition in a year that has been considered “record-breaking” for the venue and the city, the Bilbao Exhibition Centre is already working on a programme full of top-level events. The international movement continues to move forward and the 2019 calendar already includes events dedicated to architecture, wind power, and railway transport with specific brands that are highly-recognised within their sectors: Architect at Work, Rail Live, and WindEurope Congress & Exhibition.

Architect at Work will be held on the 20th and 21st of February for the first time ever at the BEC. This original professional trade show s here to stay and will welcome architects, designers, engineers, city planners, and real estate promoters. The event, organised by Headquarters Kortrijk Xpo, which operates under this brand in 15 different countries, focuses on the innovative element of the exhibition, with a jury that will assess each product considering its degree of novelty and the information provided by the exhibitor.

In March, the second edition of Rail Live! will take place from the 5th to the 7th. The annual flagship event for operators, manufacturers, and suppliers of the railway industry will return to the BEC after a “dynamic and successful start” in 2018, “in which our participation expectations were exceeded”, according to the event organisers, Terrapinn Holdings Ltd. One of the main sources of interest in the edition, that combines a trade show and a congress, is its unique conference programme, which will include experts from around the world who will share their analysis of the main challenges to the global railway industry.

The European Wind Energy Association will hold the “WindEurope Conference & Exhibition 2019” from the 2nd to the 4th of April. The trade show is the most important event in Europe in its field, with an average of 8,000 professionals attending from all over the world and over 400 exhibitors from 50 countries. In recent years, wind power has undergone intensive development and is the fastest growing energy source, so the event comes at a key moment for the commitment to innovation, networking, and awareness of the future trends. In this respect, the combination of the exhibition space and the interesting conference programme shall respond to the need for knowledge transfer and commercial exchange between professionals of the sector.
