Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality… All these technologies will revolutionise the way in which we travel, as we will be able to see and analyse at the “World Metrorail & Light Rail Congress” to be held on 18 and 19 April at the BEC.  The exhibition area, under the title “Rail Live! Event” will include over 80 leading companies such as CAF, Siemens, ArcelorMittal, Ingeteam and ABB, who will showcase the latest breakthroughs that are transforming the railway industry in top-priority areas such as accessibility, safety, predictive maintenance, punctuality and flow management. In parallel, over 50 lectures will be presented featuring these new technologies and innovations, offering a first-hand opportunity to discuss these solutions with the suppliers.

After holding the last editions in London, Metrorail arrives at Bilbao, one of the main hubs for railway manufacturing in Spain. Its arrival comes following the recent announcement of significant investments in the railway infrastructure by the Spanish and regional governments. The event is organised by Terrapinn Holdings Ltd, and has the support of MAFEX-Spanish Railway Association, Basque Government, SPRI, Euskal Euskal Trenbide Sarea, Euskotren and Metro Bilbao.
