BEC hung the “Sold Out” sign as all its halls were fully occupied during the weekend of May 9–11, thanks to a packed and varied program. The weekend’s schedule showcased BEC’s strong ability to host multiple events simultaneously in a range of formats, as well as to bring together events with a shared theme — in this case, tourism and leisure activities.
Hall 1 hosted the 45th edition of Expovacaciones, one of the most traditional fairs on the annual calendar. Centered around the themes of Experience and Taste, the fair once again served as a source of inspiration for those planning their next trip. Meanwhile, Caravaning took place in Hall 3, featuring an extensive exhibition of caravans, motorhomes, camper vans, and accessories. The strong public turnout confirmed the growing popularity of this way of traveling.
In addition, BEC was the venue for the launch of SET Congress, Europe’s first screen tourism congress, where industry experts explored the emerging links between cinema and tourism and their growth potential.
FVO, the Used Vehicle Fair, returned once again, offering a great opportunity for people in search of nearly new vehicles, demo vehicles, and low-mileage cars under attractive conditions. Music also had its moment during the weekend, with two events — Bad Religion and United Festival — rounding out the cultural and entertainment offering.
Furthermore, BEC hosted the entrance exams for the BEINT scholarships, managed by Basque Trade & Investment. These scholarships are aimed at young university graduates interested in business internationalization.
Meanwhile, in Hall 2, preparations were underway for Food 4 Future, the international event on innovation in the food sector, held from May 13 to 15.
