WindEurope has now closed its 2022 edition. It was held at a decisive moment for the wind energy sector. More than 9,000 professionals from 78 countries attended the WindEurope Annual Event 2022, producing an economic impact of 19,187,016 euros for the Gross Domestic Product.
This figure is generated thanks to the international nature of the attendees. In fact, more than 50% of them came from outside Spain. The most-represented countries were the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Italy and the United States.
WindEurope, which for the second year held its event at the BEC, had a conference programme featuring more than 300 speakers and a wide range of exhibitors – 330 – who are part of the entire wind power value chain. With the latest technology presented at WindEurope2022, this sector is capable of achieving energy security and meeting the climate and energy targets set in Europe: the expansion of the wind sector to 1,300 GW by 2050. Capacity is currently 180 GW.
WindEurope2022’s being held at BEC is fully consistent with the approach of attracting events covering to strategic sectors and which will involve projection abroad, to strengthen the positioning of the Basque Country as an international business destination.
