BEC Conventions and Events has recently published its new dossier under the title “Aquí todo Expossible” (Here Everything Expossible). Throughout its more than 35 pages, a complete tour of the BEC facilities is given, the Bilbao Bizkaia destination is assessed, and the spaces of the Convention Centre, the Pavilions, the Atrium or Bizkaia Arena are analysed in detail. It also highlights other unique spaces such as the surrounding street, the entrance and south car park, or the BEC Tower Terrace.
The report covers a large part of the services offered by the Bilbao Exhibition Centre to ensure that all its events are run according to the planned guidelines: exhibitor services, auxiliary staff, audiovisual equipment, communication equipment, signage and branding, IT, 4,000-space car park and the sports centre.
Furthermore, the Bilbao Exhibition Centre continues to uphold its commitment to sustainability by working according to the objectives of a specific committee. This criterion is applied, among other social and economic aspects, to the management of the venue as a piece of infrastructure and to the events held there. An important aspect is efficient use of energy. The venue already has a photovoltaic solar energy park, which is one of the most important in the Basque Country, and this year it will expand the installation of solar panels so as to significantly increase the current power and be able to reach a self-sufficiency rate between 10 and 12%.
Moreover, BEC has been improving monitoring and management of the consumption of energy sources. LED lights have been installed in most of the spaces and the use of electrical power has been promoted by installing electric recharging stations in the car park.
