This year Bilbao Exhibition Centre will host international events dedicated to strategic sectors such as wind energy, food innovation, advanced industry and production engineering research.

In April, the exhibition and congress venue will once again host WindEurope, which will combine exhibition and congress with a broad representation of companies and professionals from the offshore and onshore wind energy sector. With less than two weeks to go, the WindEurope conference program features more than 300 speakers, who will focus on topics as relevant to the sector as supply chain competitiveness, floating offshore wind, energy prices, sustainability and digitalization.

In May, Food 4 Future will return, which expects to bring together more than 6,000 leaders of the foodtech industry with a high presence of international visitors. Under the slogan “The Foodtech Revolution”, the second edition of Food 4 Future will aim to position the Spain FoodTech Nation brand internationally and give the opportunity to professionals throughout the value chain of the food industry to find their technology partner to drive innovation in their operating model.

However, one of this year’s major milestones in the BEC calendar is the BIEMH-International Machine Tool Biennial Exhibition, which has already contracted nearly 95% of its available space. The number of registered exhibitor firms exceeds 900, with a total of 46% of foreign participants from countries such as Germany, Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, France, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, Taiwan and Turkey. These data confirm favorable prospects for this edition, to be held from June 13 to 17, in which the industry will reinforce its essential role in the economic context. BeDigital, Addit3D, Imic and Workinn will also be held in parallel.

This year, moreover, activity will not stop in August: CIRP, the world’s leading organization in production engineering research, will hold its 71st General Assembly at BEC under hybrid meetings with its members, research affiliates and guests. CIRP, which is at the forefront of design, optimization, control and management of processes, machines and systems, has scheduled a six-day event. In addition, Bilbao Exhibition Centre has obtained official recognition from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, through its Secretary of State for Trade, for five of the fairs in its program with the seal of full internationality.
