The Spanish Trade Fair Association (AFE) and the Spanish Association of Conference Centres (APCE) will hold their second joint conference at Bilbao Exhibition Centre from 3 to 6 July 2024, the year in which the Basque venue celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Following the success of the Malaga event in 2022, and accompanied by excellent sectoral data, the Conference will address the positive impact of conferences and trade fairs on the territory’s development, beyond holding them. Its claim: “Legacies that transform”.

“It is both an honour and a huge challenge for us to host and co-organise such an important event for our sector. In a year packed with trade fairs and conferences, we can look forward to holding an interesting 2nd AFE-APCE Conference that will enable its attendees to debate, analyse and investigate new trends and future challenges in the sector. With it we will undoubtedly put the finishing touch to our anniversary”.

Bilbao Exhibition Centre has recently joined the board of directors of the Spanish Association of Conference Centres (APCE), with Xabier Basañez, BEC’s General Manager, becoming vice-president. Besides this role, the members of the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Spanish Trade Fairs Association (AFE) have re-elected Xabier Basañez to lead and represent the association as President for the next four years. These appointments strengthen BEC’s commitment to the events industry as essential platforms for sharing knowledge, networking and driving innovation.
