The Convention Center of Bilbao Exhibition Centre will host the 7th edition of the World Bank Group’s (World Bank) international conference on Climate Action. After two years of virtual meetings, Inovate4Climate will be held in person from May 23-25.

Given the current context and the need to ensure that climate action stays on track, I4C 2023 will focus on how to accelerate implementation and investments to mitigate change and enable adaptation at a pace and scale never before achieved. Technology, processes, tools and instruments will be part of this World Bank conference that has a long tradition of highlighting practical solutions.

The three-day conference will begin with a plenary session where experts will present the most necessary and important topics of the day. This year, the main arguments will revolve around climate finance, carbon markets and a just transition. The keynotes will feature high-level experts representing various sectors and industries with the aim to inspire, motivate and encourage the audience to take bolder climate action.

The workshop program is the core of the I4C 2023 conference. Organized by renowned institutions from the public and private sectors, civil society and academia, they will showcase pioneering practical solutions that have been tested and are ready for implementation at scale.  In its last virtual edition, more than 50 workshops were held, attended by more than 6,000 participants from government, business, financial institutions and civil society.

The exhibition area, the Marketplace, will have around 30 exhibitors such as governments, international organizations, the UN, NGOs, green businesses such as start-ups, energy companies, financial institutions or manufacturers, who will offer an additional opportunity to showcase innovative climate initiatives and connect with potential partners to exchange ideas and foster synergies.

The last in-person edition of this Conference was a top-level event that had a great impact. It was held in Singapore in 2019, where it brought together more than 1,200 delegates from 82 countries.
